Attempts to make a change in the International Circassian association

In recent weeks there have been Facebook posts of a picture of a Circassian activist- Bislan Hagaz'i from the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria. Along with the photos there are scriptures that talk about the candidacy of this activist for the position of president of what is called the International Circassian association. These posts are mostly published by Circassians living in Turkey.

This month there will be a conference of the association we mentioned above in the city of Nalchik, the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria. Apparently and at this conference there will be elections of a new management as well as a new president of this association which in the eyes of many Circassian activists has brought no benefit to the Circassian people and which works solely in the interests of the Russian government.

Apparently there are forces in the Circassian society both in the homeland and in the Diaspora that are trying to change this dismal state of the association by electing a new president who has not previously filled bureaucratic positions in the governments of the Circassian republics. And Bislan Hagazi was not in government positions but was active in Circassian social organizations.

It is likely that Bislan Hagaz'i will not be elected to the presidency because there are no democratic elections in this association and who will stand in this position is usually determined in the rooms of the security forces and the government of the republic.
