The head of the Republic of Adygea, Murat Kumpilov, took part in the opening of the Russian judo championship among men and women, which takes place in Maikop from September 23 to 26, with strict observance of sanitary requirements,- Adygheya.ru reports.
The importance of holding this major sporting event in Adygea was emphasized by the Head of the Republic of Adygea. In his greeting to the audience, Murat Kumpilov noted that Adygea is a recognized center of national judo, which gave the world the famous Maikop judo school which was started by the best judo coach of the 20th century, Yakub Koblev.
The championship brought together more than 500 team members representing 61 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Among them - 303 masters of sports, 25 masters of sports of international class, 3 honored masters of sports. The judo wrestling team of the Republic of Adygea consists of 31 athletes (24 - men's team and 7 - women's), of which 11 are masters of sports and 20 candidates for master of sports of Russia. During 4 days of competition, they will demonstrate their wrestling skills, and the judges will determine the best of the best.
