Circassian Genocide Monument unveiled in Istanbul

The opening ceremony of the monument "The Circassian Genocide" took place yesterday in the Bielkaduzu area which is on the European side of Istanbul, Turkey. The monument was opened at the initiative of the Circassian Association which operates in this area,- Circassia Movement news center reports.

The opening ceremony was attended by the mayor of Bielkaduzu, Mehmet Murat Chalk, the president of the Federation of the Caucasian Associations in Turkey, Yildiz Shakirdji, and others. The opening ceremony was broadcast live on YouTube by Nart Agency.

 In recent years, monuments commemorating the Circassian genocide have begun to appear in various cities and areas in Turkey, where many Circassians live.
