Russian "supporters of peace" opposed the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Under the statement, which is called "If only there was no war," dozens of famous people have already signed up - in particular, actress Liya Akhedzhakova and singer Andrei Makarevich.
The corresponding document was published by radio "Echo of Moscow". It mentions the disturbing "recruitment of mercenaries in the Russian Federation and the transfer of fuel and military equipment to the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions."
"Our position is extremely simple: Russia does not need a war with Ukraine and the West. No one threatens us, no one attacks us. A policy based on promoting the idea of such a war is immoral, irresponsible and criminal," the document says.
The authors emphasize that the Kremlin promotes militaristic messages on behalf of all Russians, completely disregarding the fact that not all citizens support them. The statement also points out that a possible of war not only does not meet the interests of Russia, but also threatens its existence.
The signatories called on the authorities to abandon their aggressive policy. They also called the Russians "hostages of criminal adventurism" and stated that against the background of rumors about a possible invasion, the ruble is falling and prices are rising sharply.
