June 23 is the Day of the Circassian Woman or the Day of Sataney, the heroine of the Nart epic of the Circassians and the master of gold embroidery.
This year there will be events in offline and online formats.
Today, during the day, various events are held dedicated to gold embroidery and women's national costume, as part of the Year of the Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of the Russian Federation and the 100th anniversary of the statehood of the Republic of Adygea, the press sevice of the Ministry of Culture of Adygea reports.
In addition, on the websites of cultural institutions or departments of culture of municipalities of the Republic of Adygea and on social networks, book exhibitions, master classes in gold embroidery, lacework, galloon weaving and other crafts will be presented; photo exhibitions of works by masters of gold embroidery art; photo exhibitions of historical photography; and videos about the gold-embroidered art of the Circassians and others.
